Rosary School Pune engrossed in activities #2



Ganapati Festival:
The students from the Rosary Schools, Pune were busy in making and decorating idols of the lord Ganapati. Their understanding of the God of wisdom and creativity was expressed by the children in a creative way through this novel concept. This provided an opportunity to explain to the children about how to avoid pollution. They were taught the ill- effects of using materials like poisonous colours, clays and their effect when the idols are immersed in the rivers providing drinking water. Children participated in the activity of making and decorating their favourite God Ganesha using their creativity and imagination.
Drawing Competition:
A Drawing Competition was recently organized at the Rosary School, Pune. Different topics were given to the students of different standards. The students were asked to put their own ideas in their drawings, based on the various discussions that the teachers had with the students on the various topics that they could choose from. They performed very well.
Sports Activities:
Sports activities serve various purposes in the Rosary School Pune. During the academic year participation of the students in various Inter-class and Inter-house competitions mentally and physically prepares them to participate in the Inter-school tournaments at the District Level and there after at the Zonal level.As part of their regular time-table Sports activities being conducted are :
  • Carom
  • Basket ball.
  • Throw ball
  • Dodge ball
  • Athletics
  • CalisthenicsEtc.
Thus, the Rosary Schools at Pune in their endeavor of overall development focus on various aspects of the student growth both mentally and physically.

Rosary School Pune engrossed in activities



The boys and girls from the Rosary Schools, Pune are on their toes throughout the year. Even though they are engrossed in various activities, their participation is whole hearted with tremendous enthusiasm. At Rosary all out efforts are taken to ensure that every student gains the most from all the varied activities . All this is possible due to the innovative ideas of the teachers and their team work with the students.
ARTS & CRAFT ORIGAMI 
The Rosary School Pune Art and Craft teachers, thought of introducing the children to the art of ‘ORIGAMI’ . Origami was taught to the children. They enjoyed it and made number of fine creations.
The festival of ‘ DAHI – HANDI ’
Various festivals provide good opportunities to the teachers from the Rosary Schools, Pune to encourage the students in doing and experiencing some new things. The students are taught to express thier understanding of these festivals via new creations, namely drawings, paintings or other creative crafts. One of such festival was the Dahi-Handi at the Krishna Janmashtami. The Rosary School boys and girls prepared beautiful drawings displaying the concept of Krishna, Gopies and the Dahi-Handi. The tiny tots and their teachers enjoyed these creations.
15thAug. Celebration
The National days like the Independence Day -15th August and the Republic Day 26th January are celebrated like festivals in the Rosary Schools, Pune. The students participate in the events like flag hoisting, marching and present patriotic songs , giving the students the opportunity to take pride in thier history and hertitage. Patriotic songs were presented by the Senior Students.

Rosary School Pune in the limelight of sports

In the recent months boys and girls from the Rosary Schools, Pune displayed their talents in number of sports events and created an impact. They participate in large number of events in the inter-school competitions. Their success in the Inter School Competitions was remarkable. Many of them having performed exceedingly well at the district level and were selected to participate in the Zonal level competitions.

Rosary School Pune leaders in swimming -

Swarnim Barpatre won the GOLD MEDALS in the 50 meters, 100 meters and 200 meters [ Breast Stroke Style ] Inter School Swimming Competitions organized by the Zilla Parishad.

Pranit Ubhe won the GOLD MEDAL in the 200 meters Butterfly race and SILVER MEDAL in the 200 meters individual medley and 400 meters free style in the Inter School Swimming Competitions organized by the Zilla Parishad.

Rosary School Pune Boys and Girls shined in martial arts -

Siddhant Kodre won the GOLD medal in the Taekwondo District Level Championship Tournament for boys under 14.

Tejaswini Jawale won the GOLD medal in the Taekwondo District Level Championship Tournament for boys under 17.

Rosary School Pune Girl selected for Zonal competitions in Gymnastics

Arusha Gawari ranked second in Gymnastics at the District Level and is selected for the zonal competitions.

Rosary School Pune Students excelled in Skating -

Sanket Yadav and Dnyaneshwari Zite are selected to participate in the zonal level competitions of Roller Skating under the age 14.

Rosary School Pune Student impressed in Boxing -

Pravav Dhone ranked second in BOXING tournament in the group 70-75 kg under age 17.

These winners were felicitated at the school.

Activities at Rosary School Pune [Part 2]



SCIENCE CLUB
The students from the Rosary School Pune take keen interest in exploring and understanding the miseries and secretes of science. The best place to satisfy their curiosities and implement ideas is the Science Club. We at Rosary believe in the fact that, there is immense pleasure and thrill by doing the things with own hands and experiencing the things that are learnt in the class-rooms. This way the scientific minds are shaped. There could be geniuses like Einstein amongst them.

Developing the skills of reading and writing contributes to enriching the knowledge bank of the students. The boys and girls from the Rosary School Pune are encouraged to enhance their reading habit and become voracious readers. The library facility is always at their disposal. The Rosary boys and Girls take pride in writing also. Competitions in writing and hand writing skills are periodically organized.
AWARENESS OF SOCIAL ISSUES
While undergoing academic education, the Rosary School Pune students are made well aware of various social issues. Importance of the issues is impressed on their minds through activities like wall poster competition on a specific issue. The Rosary Students form groups put their ideas together and create meaningful displays which conveys the message effectively e.g. “Save your Girl Child”.
INVESTITURE CEREMONY
Leadership qualities and discipline are inculcated amongst the Rosary Pune School boys and girls through the formation of houses. These houses are lead by leaders (Prefects). Every year the new leaders take charge of their responsibilities from their predecessors at the Investiture Ceremony. The leaders take oath in this graceful dignified ceremony. The Investiture Ceremony at the Rosary Schools is a spectacular one. The Rosary boys and girls at large and their leaders take pride in demonstrating their leadership qualities through smart actions and movements at these functions.
On this day, the Head Boy and Head Girl were decorated with badges and given charge of their responsibility.
The head Boy, Head Girl, captains and vice captains of the last year handed over the responsibility to their successors in a grand function.
The Headmistress and the Honorable Chief Guest did the installation of badges of the students.
A cultural program was also presented. Our school song was presented by the choir.
The invested students took their oath with the flag bearers of the respective houses, viz – a – viz RUBY, SAPPHIRE, EMERALD AND TOPAZ.
MONSOON FESTIVAL
The Monsoon festival was celebrated during August 2012 at the Rosary School Pune.
The tiny tots from of the preparatory school of Rosary Pune School came to school dressed in dressed in Green. Their Motto for the day was “save the Earth, Plant Trees”
A school rally was taken with messages related to environment.
The mothers of the tiny tots also contributed to the event. They filled their dear ones Tiffin with snacks made with green ingredients. A variety of cuisine was seen in the Kid’s Tiffin.
To bring in the monsoon fever many games were organized for the students.
They were all different water games packed with fun.
The young buds filled bottles with the cap, tried filling water with their palm and enjoyed playing with water
Prizes were distributed to the winners which was very motivating.
